RENAULT TRUCKS. ENGINES. Renault Trucks is meeting the challenge of reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The manufacturer is equipping its T, T High, C and K ranges with new DE11 and DE13 engines. Coupled with the integration of advanced technologies, such as Turbo Compound, and dedicated services, they can reduce consumption by up to 10%. However, generally, diesel-powered cars are about 25 per cent lighter on fuel than their petrol equivalents. The innate superior energy of diesel fuel, versus petrol, remains, however, a factor for the average motorist. Generally speaking, diesels are about 25 per cent more fuel efficient than petrol engines in normal urban and highway use. The mean value of fuel consumption at idling for motorcycles was observed to be 0.14 l/h, whereas for three wheelers, car and bus it was observed to be 0.24 l/h, 0.6 l/h and 0.9 l/h respectively 1 Answer. It's normal for the old model 4D56 engines to consume much of fuel. but just try to calibrate your fuel injector. If it is automatic transmission, try to covert it into manual. 4D56 engine is very common, lot of transmission is available. Posted on Oct 08, 2011. Anonymous Oct 19, 2011. They are 2000 CC (so sip more fuel).. Diesel costs more than petrol (per liter). Petrol's pick is also better and also the average (over all mileage). I mean the average advertised by Toyota for the new 2.0D is about 13.5 - 14 KPL (long distance) which I think is pretty low. Large Diesels: f~ 55% ~ 98% ideal efficiency ! Diesel Engine Characteristics (compared to SI engines) Better fuel economy. Overall lean, thermodynamically efficient. Large displacement, low speed – lower FMEP. Higher CR. CR limited by peak pressure, NOx emissions, combustion and heat transfer loss. Generator Size (kW)*. Load. 1/4 1/2 3/4 Full. Consumption (gal/hr) read only. Calculate Fuel. The Fuel Consumption Calculator above approximates the fuel consumption of a diesel generator based on its size and operating load. Please note that these results are intended to be used to estimate how much fuel a generator uses during operation and The fuel consumption gap between the two spray angles increases with the increase of engine speed and the BSFC of engine is almost constant between 2000 and 3000 rpm [45, 46]. When the engine speed is 4000 r/min, the BSFC at the spray angle of 156° is reduced by 16%, compared with that at the spray angle of 150°. .
